Default New to the forum, just bought this lil guy.

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought my truck on November 3rd. I have always liked the style of these but never thought about owning one until I found this one for 3600 with 130k miles. My name is Mike by the way

Bought her with a clogged catalytic converter. For those of you familiar with the Cajon pass in the inland empire here in SoCal, I barely made it up the hill due to the clogged cat and had pedal floored and was only able to do 40 mph. Gutted the cat for a quick fix, and she runs great now.

The day I bought it (note the broken window/plastic wrap)

Nice truck looks a lot nicer than that slammed Chevy back there.
If didn't already know, the clogged cat was (very likely) a result of a blown plenum gasket. Read the stickied thread at the top of this forum named "end all be all plenum thread" it's real important to fix that.

And welcome to DF

Yeah, my friend is into slammed trucks. Not my thing at all.

Ive read about the plenum plate and gasket, ive actually been browsing this forum since I bought the truck to get some researching done before posting
I will verify if the plenum plate has been replaced which will help me know if the gasket has been replaced.

When I bought the truck the previous owner had replaced the tranny, rear differential, heads, serpentine belt, timing belt/chain, ball joints, heater core, and I think thats it.

Ill verify tonight on the plenum plate. Probably would be a good idea to replace the gasket anyhow.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes sir, its a sport model off road. Im still unsure if it has a lift or not, but the suspension looks stock. Its very high for being stock suspension, if it is, but probably due to the tires?

Oh and thanks

Off Road Rams came with 2 in higher suspension. So thats why it looks taller.

I had no idea, thanks for the info. I still have lots to learn. I come from a life of modifying cars, so trucks are new to me. So, please excuse my ignorance

Congrats on the truck. Hopefully you don't have to commute down the hill. If the Plenum needs fixing you'll notice a big difference climing the hill and when you do makesure you turn off od. I can climb at 70moh at about 1/3 throttle. But be prepered to watch your fuel gauge drop.

I work at the airport here in Victorville (old George Air Force Base) so luckily there is no commuting down the hill for me. Thanks for the tip on the plenum. Seems to be a real problem area for these trucks. Ill order the plate and gasket to get that taken care of.

BTW, its nice to see a local person on here
