Definitely driver's responsibility. Heavy vibration over a long period of time is VERY hard on things. The tcase was in great shape.

Wish I could join in on the carnage fun, but mt 46RE was rebuilt before I got the truck. 
Worst I've done is screw up reverse backing a load of wood up a steep driveway. But that was fixed with a band adjustment.
