Yeah, they require equipment purchase. I'm going to try Verizon's service for a month. It's $50 and all I have to purchase is a $50 wi-fi hotspot modem. I'll keep that in mind, though. The Verizon rep said the tower close to me is an old one that has not been updated to the new 3g or 4g service. It's still operating as a cell signal only. But it is scheduled to be updated "in the near future". Wasn't there a fellow who used to frequent the 2nd gen forum who posted picture of himself getting cozy on top of cell towers and giant radio towers? Can't recall the name though.

 

I'm going to try to pop in this afternoon, but a lot of moving to do today and the interwebs is scheduled for shut off later this afternoon. I'll have to go to the library in town to surf a couple times a week. Anyhoo, see ya.
