non CAD 2nd gen front axle?

Default non CAD 2nd gen front axle?

anyone know what was the year and/or model split is where the CAD was no longer used in the second gens?

2002 in the 3/4 and 1 tons IIRC

ok thanks, kind of what i was thinking also, and now is that a dana or an AAM axle?,

it would be the AAM axle since the 3rd gens started in 02 and I beleive they all went to AAM

In 02 it is a Dana.

Wrong.

Heavy's went in 03 and used the AAM.

'Trucker beware, that axle has the longest one piece shaft ever in a 60 on the passenger side, I have heard it can be broken with less force than you might think. Since I assume you are considering the swap into your '98, I thought I would warn you. If I were you I would be looking for a high pinion Ford 60, kingpins if possible.

no kidding!!!! try owning 3 bastard year rams LOL, you wouldnt believe what i go through to get parts for these things, most of time i have to order parts from different years that i know dont have the options of my years othewise its the wrong part every time! 50/50 chance and 9 times out of 10 they get it wrong

What years do you have?



In other thoughts, you could always go with the Posi-Lok.
