Default Factory coil spring decoding.

Does anyone know how to decode the tag numbers for the front coil springs? This is a partial list of the front springs from the 01 parts catalog. It would be kinda nice to figure out which springs are for the 3500 4x4 with cummins and with plow package. The spring rates are different for each spring and aftermarket spring listings usually show just one spring for the 4x4's covering all the engine and options.

I've noticed most 3500 with the cummins still sit right up where they should even after several hundred thousand miles, so maybe getting the factory springs would would be better than using spacers with worn out springs to keep the front end up.

I can't help you any further either with this link showing no correlation to your list. lol

Not sure how close you are to a dealership, but I'd take the list directly to the parts counter. At least the guys I deal with can expunge the info like that for me. Hope you can report back the info.

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. Entering the part numbers in online dodge part sites don't give any info either. Just says front coil spring and a price.

id like to know this too... i have a set of diesel coil springs hanging around, and want to replace the v10 springs i installed.

however these springs came off a 2500 diesel, and have no idea if theyre plow package springs or not.

If anyone is interested the dealer was no help at all. Needed a VIN to get anywhere. He could check individual numbers from the parts list but couldn't say what it fit or what options. If someone knows of a 3500 quadcab 4x4 with cummins and plow package, get the last 8 digits of the vin and he can find the part number for the springs. Those would make those 1500's sit right up there.

jim already looked in the part manual, as did i, and couldnt find anything. im definitely interested in finding out, so i can get 3500 cummins plow package springs. guarantee my truck would not budge one bit from my 717# plow.

which means, if i can find those, and install my d60 front, im getting a bigger plow!
