I also talked to the same buddy and he has 15 sales guys at his location and the dealership I would be going to is bigger with more inventory and 15 sales guys. We would also have not only the new lot but a used lot to work off of with 125 cars, all 8K and up.

I think there is some potential to make some cash here. Now I don't expect to see that in the first year, I need to learn the dance good and play the game.

Yes, just got back from dealer and they want me to start on the 17th.

Now the bad, straight commission only, no base. Still the 20-30% on gross depending on the volume you sell. Kick backs for aftermarket upgrades and service plans. Also they don't have an Internet department, so whatever the internet sales are for the month get distributed amoung the 15 sales guys.

More money on commission for trucks, base is $150 per truck. If you can sell 4 a month, they bump minimum to $250.

They also have top gross and volume bonuses. They also have the advantage bonus program from Toyota, top 5 sales guys get big kick backs from Toyota themselves. There is like 15 categories from volume to back/front end/aftermarket, etc.

Big decision...

They said they give their guys about 100-125 prospects per month between showroom, used lot, and Internet sales. Average salesperson closes 30-35% of their prospects. It's either you sink or swim.

6 weeks paid training at $400 a week and then strictly commission once I hit the floor.

They pull from Philadelphia suburbs. The big one being collegeville, pa where all the big drug companies are. They are in a good location actually.
