Default Dana 60 Swap

well, back in august i managed to score a set of axles, a dana 60 front, dana 70 rear for 250. the time has come to swap in the front.

the dana 60 needed all new wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, and pads, as well as a drivers side axle shaft(mostly purchased)

along with that, i needed to get a sway bar, and links from a 94-97 2500(havent gotten these yet, axle is from a 96)

so for aftermarket parts, ill be getting these.

Top Gun Customs Upper and Lower Control Arms

with the control arms, i decided to go with 2500/3500 control arms, that are made for 2-3" of lift, to give me the option of putting a leveling kit on top of the diesel springs if i wanted to, thoughts?

my current driveshaft u-joint will bolt right up to the dana 60.

other than that, all i have to get is new cam bolts for the LCA's and swap my 285's over to the 8 lug rims, and ill be good to go!

i think thats everything. if im forgetting anything, please, let me know!

ill update this thread as i purchase the remaining items, and will continue with pics as i start the swap.

doesnt need to be, its actually in pretty good shape. hardly any rust, and still has factory paint on about 85% of it.

I would still paint it.. Do some spray on bed liner.. A little extra protection.. Other than that I think you got it mostly all covered... Gears would be nice and easy to do with it out but thats alot of extra coin also.. All bearings and whatnot check out ok?

I have that same dual stabber from tgc but only ran it for 2 months bc of it invited rocks. They are undamaged. Lmk if you want them for cheaper.

You might consider not running sway bar given that you stiffened up rear leafs iirc.

Also dodge offroad now offer cheaper cam bolt setup. Less than the $50 from dealer.

sway bar is staying on for a few reasons. i plow with my truck, and i need it for safety inspection.

yes, sway bar, and a steering stabilizer are a must with plowing!
