ive had the airgap for about 3 years now, one of my top fav mods, it pair well with the sct. when floored from second it snaps you back and goes up the rpms so much faster than the kegger .from the power it provides on top and the torque mang. removed from sct its a awesome combo. it also sounds pretty nice .check out my youtube vids

my truck developed a tick on acceleration it has about 170k on it. im pretty sure a lifter is shot. ive been so busy with my daughter on the way and getting the house ready i never have time to fiqure it out. currently ooking to getr a mini van anyways.

ive never had any problems with emmisions also i live in the burgh and its good !

Where's Sheriff? He has an AirGap. I would go M1 though, personally.

Hi all,
I just got done reading all 11 pages of this thread. I find this interesting since the reason I went with the AirGap was because it was suppose to M1 was the intake that killed my low end torque. I knew the AirGap would loose a little but I figured I could make it up. Now to hear it is the other way around don't make me too happy. I still don't have my engine built and am waiting for warmer weather to finish off.
I am not putting this engine in a Ram truck. I am building the engine for my Jeep Wrangler. Right now I have a 5.2 in the Jeep but was having issues with it so picked up a 5.9 to rebuild and put back into the Jeep.

I am using the stock cam, EQ heads, stock bore and compression, Harland Sharp rockers 1.7:1 ratio, short style headers, high volume oil pump.

The Jeep has 5:13 gears & ARB lockers in both axles. Running a HP44 in front & a HP60 in the rear.

What modifications did you have to make for it to work? I most likely will not be doing it cuz all I have done is mostly change oils and such and a few brakes haha. I'd love to learn just my dad doesn't have the time to pass his knowledge haha

Intake manifold swap is cake. not much to screw up. Worst that can happen you install and leak oil out the back, and do it right the second time. Just gotta make sure you keep the gaskets lined up and silicone the corners.

What Wombat said dude.............................................. ...........................
Go down to your local Dodge dealer or order it online but get the shop and parts manual for you truck. They aren't cheap but worth their weight in gold.
The only way your going to learn is by trying. You could also take a auto repair class at your community college or trade school. Putting a better intake manifold on should be done at the same time that you put a better exhaust on. More air in means more air out.

Plus if you get into a fix and need help you have a ton of folks on here that will guide you. Good luck.
Also where are you from? Might be somone local who would stop by to lend a hand.

I have the M1 on my truck. It works well with the combo I am running. The stock intake just choked this engine. I tried the modified stock intake and non modified. When I first installed the M1 and took it for a test drive I was really disappointed, but after I drove it for a couple of miles the computer learned what was going on and you could really feel the difference!! The throttle response is much better, and it pulls hard all the way to the red line. I have always been curious about the AirGap, but I really don't think it will make much difference at all on my engine due to the cam and heads I am running. I have read a lot of reviews on both intakes and the guys with the closer to stock engine tend to have better luck with the airgap and the guys with higher modified engines like the M1 better.
