Q Is this a regrind of the stock cam and how much for it? If it is yes you might need longer push-rods.

Not to butt in and rub shoulders, but hopefully redneck can consider separate thread for the cam talk. It will be good info there, that way this thread with the intakes can stay on it...preferably. I realize it's a logical course of thinking to also consider other mod compliments. Just sayin' and not meaning to ruffle dah mentor.

I think that would actually be more confusing than helpful... we are bouncing around from topic to topic here, even in the same post. Start it fresh, and run with it from there.

I had emailed CompCams awhile back asking which cam they would suggest for me and this is what they came up with.

http://www.compperformancegroupstore...Category_Code=

I still have to find lifters and pushrods for it though, they said they didn't carry them but my stock ones should work fine. I threw away the old lifters from my project motor but still have the pushrods. What's a good website or seller for the lifters?

Just order them from the dodge dealer or from a Mopar web site. I have had zero problems with them. Any bigger cam should use hardened push rods.

Mopar performance Part # P5249862 Magnum hydraulic roller tappets-set of 16 $117.50

Mopar push-rods #P5249662 1992-02 magnum V8 and crate motor set of 16. $34.50

Would you mind letting me know how you passed smog with it installed?

The Hughes site claims it's CA emissions legal citing some wording and then linking to a CARB document. That link is dead....b/c it's been superseded/outdated.

I spoke directly with the CARB office...and they were clear...no EO number = no legal emissions aftermarket part. There isn't one for the F1 nor the M1.
I didn't do anything to prepare for my smogs. It was a test only smog since it's an old beater. The guy who did my smog looked under the hood with a flashlight as always. Then hooked it up to a machine to do the smog. Simple as that.

Thanks. I figured that was the only way it got by. Not all techs (regardless if its "test only station") are prudent. Keep going to him.

Meanwhile.... sucks for me and I gotta find a tech like that over here.
