I Quit....
One year to the day for me since it's past midnight.
It took a few days for the spaced out feeling to go away for me. I've been doing the e-cig thing since I quit. If the cravings get the better of you then you should grab one of those disposable e-cigs instead of a pack of cigarettes. They're not the same as smoking but you'll get a placebo effect going on and it should make the craving go away.

Of course, the e-cig doesn't have all the tar that a regular cig does, which is what is really bad for you in the first place. Not that nicotine is really good for you.
Nicotine is a stimulant like caffeine. Nicotine is about as harmful to your health as caffeine when taken in low doses like when it is in a cigarette or an e-cig.
I learned something new about smoking a few weeks ago, google radiation in cigarettes related to the mineral apatite.

I quit cold turkey for a 10 yr. spell, then someone at work had a baby and gave me a cigar.....well....I smoked it and now back to smoking a couple packs of Swisher Sweets a week. I screwed up so I guess I'll have to quit again when I'm ready for the pain.
Congrats! I've tried a few times with no success. The hardest part is keeping your hands busy (while not constantly snacking)lol. I've built model cars and truck since I was a kid, so doing that has really helped in the past. Ofcourse, something always comes up that throws me back into a pack a day. I figure once I re-do the interior of the truck, I'll quit smoking. No sense in stinking up a nice new upholstery job.
