X2. I make certain I owe a few hundred each year. I want my money when I can use it, which all during the year.

I'd have to set my exemptions sky high to owe the IRS any money. That's the beauty of kids and the Earned Income Credit

We lost our last child credit this year. so we ended up owing a little bit more than usual. Stupid government, the child tax credit goes away when they turn 17, which is dumb because most kids are still dependents until that are at least 18, maybe older. Nothing about my expenses related to either of my kids changed at all when they turned 17.

My mom and stepfather can relate. My unemployed, senior in high school 19yr old sister still lives at home, but they haven't been able to claim her since she was 16.

still havent filed ours... wife is waiting on her 1098-t form, then we can file. getting about, or a little over 8k back.

top end built 360 is getting dropped into my truck, and the wifes 98 jeep zj is getting a 3.5" lift, and 31's.

other than that, the rest is going in the bank, we may buya tv though. a nice 55" tv in my bedroom would be a nice addition to my sleep number adjustable bed!

$8,000?!?!?! Holy CRAP! You both need to adjust your combined withholding to the tune of $333/pay period (assuming 24 pay periods in the year).

That's $666.66 you could have in your hand each month.
