As soon as I get the parts in hand and a used block to work with I'll start a build thread. Should be fun!

Do you have this book?
How to Rebuild Mopar Magnum V8 Engines HP1431 How to Rebuild Mopar Magnum V8 Engines HP1431

It's well worth the money even if you've rebuilt engines before.

OK! Looks like fun time is coming your way! I am JEALOUS!

I have the aforementioned book if you would like to borrow it! It is pretty good and lists some things to watch out for.

Good list of mods and changes. Should certainly bring some life back to it!

(so I may "happen to be in the neighborhood" once this starts...with a six pack or three maybe!)

Ordered. Thanks for the tip! Too bad it's out of print and also not in ebook format.

Thanks for the offer! And it's highly lickely that I'll need a hand or two. You still need to come by and see my neighbors 56 T-Bird. I went ahead and ordered the book so I won't be worried about damaging your copy and I can make notes or dog ear pages as needed.

It was written by one of the engineers assigned to the Magnum engine design team. He presents a history covering the development of the Magnum from its roots to the old A-series block and how they differ. All of the torque values (very important) are covered. He also explains why the timing cannot be set on these engines, which is something I had difficulty explaining to people when some minor issues arose.

Glad I kept my copy as I use it as a supplemental to the Haynes repair manual and the FSM.

I would add a underdrive pulley to that list too, just the one for the crank, think Hughes has one too. Looks like a good list I'm sure if you shop around a bit you might be able to drop the price of rebuild some. I highly reccomend summit for parts.
