can you check fuel pressure with a gauge when this is happening.
and/or check for the sound of the fuel pump when you turn ignition on. it should whine for a short 1-2-3 seconds before it cuts off due to engine not turning (normal ASD behavior)

it sounds like you are loosing power and connection to fuel pump and gas tank sending unit.

Figure out what is causing the ASD event.

Grab the 01 service manual from the faq section, and check out the troubleshooting steps in there.

i don't think its an ASD event. i think you're loosing all signal to fuel pump/sending unit. as in wiring problem. check the connections on the top of the tank, and verify loss of pressure.
