12v cummins regular cab short bed build
#42
Sorry for taking so long to update this thread.
I ended up sticking up with the welds that were done and then welded 3/8's plate on the inside of the channel and bolted through the plate and frame 4 bolts for each plate.
I've had a 2 different people check the welds and they checked out, both are professional welders.
For an exhaust I went with a diamond eye 4" straight pipe from the turbo back.
Here are a few pics of the truck as it sits now
I also ordered new headlights, taillights, front bumper, front bumper plastics, and rollpan.
We did have one problem when putting the bed on the truck.
We had 6 people putting the bed on, there was 2 on each side and 2 in the rear. We placed the bed down and had to slide it forward a little more, when we slid it forward one of the people on the rear of the bed got his hand caught between the frame and the bed and pulled his hand out and lost the tip of his left ring finger.
I do have pics but didn't want to post them for people who didn't want to see them so here is a link

He ended up going to the hospital and they couldn't use the finger tip. They cut a hole in the palm and put his finger in his palm. It's out now and he is down to band-aids. They said his finger might be 1/4" shorter, but as far as he can tell it's the same length.

The frame is holding up great, I've put atleast 10k mi on it since I cut it. I've had it checked by professionals. It's not pretty but it'll hold fine.
And thanks on the color. I was completely set on white until the last week before paint. When I switched to electric blue. The color from 07-08 rams and and srt4 neons
