Default 12v cummins regular cab short bed build

In Dec. I bought my '95 12v reg cab its a 2wd reg cab long bed with 290k mi on it. Even though the truck having almost 300k on it I picked this truck just because how clean the frame was. It has just minor surface rust on the frame. The bed and tailgate were pretty much shot but that doesn't matter. The cab needed just the driver cab corner. I picked the truck up for $2300.

All I've done to it so far was new rotors and pads, and pass lower ball joint.

I don't have any pics of the truck except one from the orignal ad

Yesterday I bought a gas tank from a 1500 and tank straps with 1000 or so miles on them
And a short bed, the bed is in great condition especially for being in this part of the country, I think the seller said the parts truck was from Alabama

The only "bad" (if you want to call it that) part of the bed is on each corner of the bed rail there was once a hole drilled in it and the holes are starting to rust

This is going to be an ongoing project, hopefully starting next Sunday

Awesome.

Gonna paint match everything when it's done? Did you ever sell your 1500?

I'm planning on painting it white and matching everything except the mirrors and have matte black rims. I'm thinking 20's but having a hard time finding tires.

As for the 1500 I stopped trying to sell it up until last week because I found something else I want a 01 ford explorer sport trac it's candy apple green that's lifted 4-5".

Looks like a fun project. The only thing you need to remember is that all half ton Ram short beds used a 26 gallon tank, where as the Ram long beds used a 35 gallon tank. However! the later Ram 2500 Quad Cab SWB trucks used 34 gallon tanks.

mine has a 36 gallon tank

QCSB...

36 gallon tanks were optional, and that option was ordered according to my build sheet and the fuel station lol...

my question is how the F are you going to fit a short bed on a long bed frame?! or do you plan on getting a new cab from a quad cab to take up the extra frame space...

If I remember what he said before he is cutting the frame... I think I remember him saying something about that when he bought the truck.
