Thumbs up Just installed efan and love it!

I just recently installed a efan from a for taurus. Very easy install! But I'm most happy about the gains I got! I am now at around 14 mpg around town and my truck has a little bit better acceleration. Otis also 10 times quieter than stock. Keep on mind I have a 01 dodge ram 1500 4x4 off road edition with 285/75/17 tires. Happy camper here.

How did you wire it up? Is it always powered while driving or is it thermostat activated?

It is thermostat activated. I can draw a diagram if you want.

okay first off heres the wiring diagram and I also used the same relay and controller. well the relay I got off of ebay for about 20 bucks or so.
Parts needed are:
Ford Taurus efan (I used a 94 or 95)
hayden imperial adjustable fan controller
bosch 75 amp relay (0r tyco from ebay)
8 awg wiring
16-18awg wiring
some fancy lack tubing stuff to hide wiring and make it look clean
35 amp fuse
assortment of connectors
shrink wrap
assortment of basic electrical tools and sockets/wrenches
radiator zip ties

this is the diagram I followed
http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2.../schematic.gif

I didn't use a diode on mine. this fan also has hi and low wiring. I just used the high side.

First off I removed the old engine driven fan and set it in the bed of the truck. After you get that noisy thing out of the way. loosen or remove the shroud and slide in the electric Taurus fan in place. I tried to center it the best I could. I then used the radiator zip ties to fasten to fasten it to the radiator.(note:you may have to loosen the radiator and all of the cooler up front to gain enough clearance to fasten the zip ties.) you do not have to use this method of mounting I chose it because it was cheap and fast. but, it is still holding up. I also kept the radiator shroud on for better air flow

Once I had every thing mounted up I began following the wiring diagram above. I routed the wires coming from the fan through a pre cut hole in the shroud near the washer fluid tank and radiator hose. I mounted the fan controller and relay close together behind the grille drivers side on the vertical core support on the inside part.(that's the best way I can explain it)

After it was all wired and running. I let the truck idle and come up to temp then adjusted the controller to where it comes on right after 180 degrees or so.

I can post pictures apon request. just let me know what you need.
oh and keep that fan in the bed of the truck for a while incase you have a goof up in wiring!

Very cool. Thank you. Is this the fan controller you used? I did a search in ebay and a few options came up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Hayden-Automotive-3647-Adjustable-Thermostatic-Fan-Control-temp-kit-degree-/200906819202?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ec6fac682
