Had two sears that defected in couple of months. never again. Been using the Duralast from autozone. Listen to my radio all day long with doors open or forget the dome light on overnight and always starts.
Do some research. Ive seen where people are saying that Optima doesnt have the quality that they used to. I dont know, dont have any first hand expirience with them.
Ive never had a problem with DieHard or Interstate.
If you can find an AC Delco battery, they are made by a reliable company, and carry a very long warranty period.
I have always used Advance Auto's AutoCraft Gold batteries for convenience sake, and they have a decent warranty. Made by the same company as AC Delco's, just not as long a warranty.
I hate to say it, but Walmart's batteries are made by the same or just as reliable a company. I have a battery manufacturer list here somewhere that lists who makes every brand of auto/marine battery, I will see if I can find it.
I have no idea of the current status, but I use to get Caterpillar batteries... good CCA and handled deep cycle well and long outlasted anything else I had tried.
At one point, there were only 6 manufacturers for automotive batteries in the country. Probably less than now.... It is all about "branding" for resale.
