psssh if you're getting a cummins, 100k is just barely breaking in the engine. especially the 1st and 2nd gens (including the 24v 2nd gen)

there is a 24v 2nd gen out there right now driving around daily with over 2 million miles on the stock drive train and it has never been rebuilt. (6-spd manual and D80 rear) that dude is hauling trailers daily, changes the oil every 20k miles and runs synthetic in everything. he also runs a mild set of injectors and a mild fueling box.

I wouldn't worry about the mileage as much as the condition of the rig. take care of it and that engine will be the last one you buy lol. when my dodge truck finally dies (physically...) I'm taking the motor out and transplanting it. (unless it gets damaged beyond repair in a wreck)

It's sort of NOT the darkside as long as you're still rollin' a Ram.

I had to stop by the machine shop last night to ask Mike about the mystery Mopar tool that I have. While I was there, I asked if he could give me a ball park figure for the gasket kit plus the work to deck the block and heads so I could determine if freshening up the engine was worth the expense. Seems overall I should be able to do that for under $700, plus using the truck for paint practice when I get my turbine sprayer should yield a strong sale.

When are you getting the turbine sprayer?
