This is very confusing. Once it's in park, you can't or shouldn't able to move it at all.

i had a pop sound when shifting from reverse to drive. it was the u-joints bearing caps had wallowed out the yokes.

testing the u-joints for play for a long time didn't show any play. but one day i pulled drive shaft anyway and joints were loose as a goose.

for a little bit safer test, put the truck up on 4 jack stands (or at least 2) and get under it with a driver. be very careful of moving parts...

How much?

If I put mine in park on a slight incline when I let off the brake sometimes she'll roll a tad forward....

I would say it rolls a good 5 inches..Yeah, it also does it about everytime I take off from a stop. Sometimes I can feel it in the steering.

Adjust transmission shifter. You are not getting into Park if you can roll it 5". Therefore, you are not correctly lined up for any ear!

Also, worn tcase chain will make the popping noise he is talking about. When shifting somtimes, not always, park, reverse...

Transmission shifter? I also heard that it is just my gears inside my tranny.

5" isn't really that far. It's probably just driveline slop. Especially in a 4x4. Wouldn't hurt to try and find where it's comin' from though.
