Once I buy this tuner do I have to buy tunes aswell? http://www.hemifevertuning.com/SCT_p/sct-can.htm

Would a cold air intake help more then rockers with the chip, also should I just save up 1300 instead and get a 408 stroker kit?

An SCT tuner has 3 "canned" tunes for $365 plus the option of having Hemifever (Sean) making custom tunes for $100 a tune once you've got some more major mods under your belt.

A 408 is fun, but you still have to use an SCT.

And $1300 won't even get you close to a 408 stroker. To build one your looking at closer to 10 grand considering you'll need a beefier trans to go behind it.

A 408 stroker kit is like 1300-1500$ or something on summit racing and maybe another 2 for a transmission. And 365$? It says its 295$ on the site?

That's just for the kit add about $2000 in machine shop work, and then there is all the peripherals to go along with the 408.

I am aiming to get from 0-60 in the 6 second range from 8.9. What do you think it takes?

Why not look at putting in a V10 Viper motor (not the truck V10) and trany 500-650hp, used I have seen them for $3000 and up.

Make sure you have good bearings in the engine before you bump the power WAY up...

Merc's suggestion is great. Or you could grab a Cummins and do a swap if you're going to spend $$$$$$.

Turbocharging or supercharging won't be cheap, and you'll most likely have to run 91+octane fuel ALL the time. Plus $565 for tuning to match, and other parts needed, like injectors, etc.

Really? In a Ram truck? You are talking buckets of money, and my guess, having to pay to have the work done. I am not even sure it can be done - one guy here may be close to that - with a Dakota.
