How about a 96 12 valve ? I know there a beautiful motor.

So long as it isn't a 53 block.

(they had cracking issues.)

12 valves with the 53 block don't normally have cracking issues like the 24 valves. I think you're safe either way.

Apparently, the 53 blocks were used on the 24v from 99 to 01, so it is just a non-issue with a 96.
