Any interesting engine swaps in a 2nd gen?

^^^ Just make sure you put POWERED by CHEVY on it. If we are going stupid here why not a Man Dsl V8-1200hp out of the box.

well the OP mentioned chevy motors earlier, complained that 350hp was not enough... said diesel parts cost too much, and complained that big blocks don't fit very well...
so I posted a turn key pump gas motor with more than enough power, and the block is the same size as a 360...
and being a chevy, parts are cheap and aftermarket support is plentiful.
speakin of....I want a motor like that for my S10. put a built T56 behind it and either a narrowed GM 12 bolt, or a narrowed ford 9" rear end behind it...
suppose I could get away with the posi 10 bolt it has now till it blows up but I don't think I will get enough traction to hurt the rear end honestly

yep, chevy motors are the cheapest to build, mopar is about the middle of the road in cost to build, and ford is the most expensive to build (out of the big 3)
My S10 build would stay brand specific
Sad thing is it would likely get better fuel economy with the built v8 than it does with the 4 banger it has now...
thing is not geared right at all... 4.10 rear end with a 4-spd manual (no overdrive)
what's worse: because of that crappy gearing...my diesel has less than a 1mpg difference in fuel economy to the S10...S10 gets 16mpg...

I guess if I was to cross-breed gas for gas it would be nothing shy of a BBC 454 at min. I have had a couple of big old 70's Chevy trucks, 38+ tires, big lifts, bad gears 3.73, 4 spd bow-low stick trannys, smog head carbed 454's and they got the same mpg (12-14) as my little Dodge, at times better than these mpi motors get.
