Default downshifting

i have a question about my 98 ram 1500 ss/t. does it hurt the tranny at all by downshifting out of o/d and then to 2nd when slowing down from 120 kph? i usually turn off overdrive at 90-100 kph and drop to 2nd at 60-70 kph. the engine wont go over 3k rpm shifting like this. i dont use the brakes as much by doing this and it sounds cool. i dont think im hurting anything and i don't downshift everytime turning off the highway. what do you all think? anyone else downshift to slow down?

Eh, on a stock transmission, I wouldn't go there.

Shoot, I learned the hard way that hyper-miling a Ram isn't the best for your trans.

I do it. Im not real familiar with Kilometers but I downshift every once and a while.

Cutting O/D should be Ok. I don't think down to second either would hurt. Buuuuttttt I have a factory giant trans cooler so my tranny has more protection.

Don't do it too it a lot

A Mega Viper will hold up to 700 gas horsepower.
That should work. lol

If you've deleted a check valve, you have a transmission cooler. lol

There should actually be two technically. One in the rad and another smaller one on the outside.

Have you ordered a build sheet from Dodge yet?
