I've been building a cheap 4x4 truck for my wife to drive around in the country. I found a delta pro for sale in a field not far from our house. He wanted $45.00 for it but he did not have the key. I got it for $25.00. When I was looking for a box I wanted an over the bed, low profile unit. My wife is very petite and a regular box would block a lot of her view out the back window. The one I bought was low profile and aluminum which looks nice with the chrome wheels, mirrors, and step rails. I called Delta and they wanted $8.30 for the lock and key and $7.50 sh&h. I found a replacement lock at Lowes for $4.00. Took about 5 mins to replace. Since the truck is a shortbed and regular cab we need something to hod straps and boating stuff. Nothing to important or expensive. It also does not go all the way to the floor of the bed so we can use the space underneath. It works for us.
thanks for the pictures. i was really looking at a flush mount at 1st. you have to drill into the bed in order to mount them, right?
Yep, I originally put 6 self tapping bolts to hold it down as temporary and well they have stayed in there and haven't had a problem with it trying to move used some fender washers to help from ripping through the box.
I have held numerous things to the handles on the box including my 3-wheeler i had and the box hasn't budged. The right way to hold it down would be some through bolts however.
Measure inner width (bedrail to bedrail). But every manufacturer's website I've looked at has fitment guides with measurements. What brand are you considering?
found a deal on a weatherguard box somewhat local to me. he said he had it in an F150 & a full size chevy truck. weatherguard's site says it measures 71".
