I vote gears. Checked the label in the glove box for info. Mine was a dog with 3.55's till I swapped in 4.10s and added a tune from hemifever.

The Dodge death flash kills a bunch of hp/tq in the name of ping relief. I was shocked at the difference just the 87 tune made on my ride. The 93 tune just makes me giggle.

33's and probably 3.55 gears... but still. The V-10 should be able to smoke those all day.

When was the last time you did a full tune-up? If you don't know, its time for a tune-up. If you have the 3.55 gears, those 285's will slow ya down but the v10 should have no issue roasting em. They M/T's, A/T's, street? M/T's will definitely maker it harder to spin as there designed for maximum traction (M/T). Another thing to check, see if cat is clogging at all, done by removing front o2 and seeing how it feel compared to stock. Please disconnect the o2 when doing so. Obviously not a plenum issue as you don't have one but could be an indicator to something else going on.

edit: could also do a compression test, see how things are doing in there, though I'm sure you'd know if something was up.

I agree with everyone else. Give it a good tune up with decent wires and copper plugs first and see where you're at. If you have the 3.55's, then swapping those out will be the best bang for any bucks you put in to the truck.

You can swap to 4.10's with out needing to change the carrier, but anything more and the cost goes way up with new carriers.

On the rear diffs, any gear for the 9.25 will work, on the front diff, just need to get thick cut gears if you go numerically higher than 4.10.
