Default Rubber Floor Instead of Carpet

I have a water leak in the cab of my 1996 Ram Club Cab. I haven't been able to locate the source of the leak.

I want to remove everything from the interior so I can determine where the leak is coming from.

The carpet is ruined because of the water, and I really like the rubber/vinyl floor covering better anyway.

Has anyone here switched to rubber flooring, and is there a place/brand that seems to fit well? I have 4WD, so do any of them come with the cutout for the 4WD shifter, seat tracks, ect? Or would I have to cut these out myself?

I don't mind spending a little more for a better quality piece. I've done some looking, but none of them specify a different part for 4WD vs 2WD, so far it seems there is just a generic piece for every application.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

$180 Probably have to cut the holes from the look of it. A razor blade would work good to do it.

I think quite few members that use their trucks for work have done this swap. It's louder..... but, a lot easier to clean.

Standard leak spots are the third brake light, or around the rear window frame where the 'channels' in the roof meet the window frame.

I would think you need to get that wet carpet out and put something down that you can remove easily until the leak is fixed. You don't want to need a new floor board too. Or maybe you already do. Since it's ruined I'd pull it up and see what's under there.

What side of the cab do you suspect the leak is? Is there more water on passenger side because I was getting a leak on that side and it turned out to be the a/c drain being clogged.

I am also looking into the rubber/vinyl flooring option for my 2000 Ram 2500 from Stock Interiors and it appears that you do have to cut the opening for the 4x4 shifter. The thing is that you'd probably only need to cut a 2" by 6" slot and the shifter housing would hide that.

" it appears that you do have to cut the opening"
Maybe make a paper template first like your putting down a vinyl floor in you house. Cut the holes small to start.

I ordered the LMC truck mat. It should be delivered today, and I hope to get it in this weekend or next. I will post back with results.

I have the seating and cab trim out of the truck now. The carpet is frozen to the floor of the cab because of the nice cold weather we've been enjoying. I am going to try this weekend to heat the cab up and continue pulling the carpet out. I had the heat gun out, but it was very slow going and I don't want to be outside in ~0 degree weather getting a millimeter of carpet at a time.

I ordered the "custom fitted" vinyl floor from LMC truck, and it was not a nice product at all. Just a square of cheap brittle vinyl with no cutouts for seat bolts, 4wd, shifter, ect. Basically I could have gone to Home Depot and bought a square of rubber.

I pulled a stock rubber floor out of a Ram in the junkyard that I will put in once the weather warms up. The factory liner is molded to fit perfectly.

Did they send you the wrong part?

Wonder if they simply left off the "Needs to be" in front of the "custom fitted".....
