Sold the 01 and bought a 04 Cummins!
Been trying to sell my truck for awhile now and get in the diesel fanclub. Well I finally did and got boned for it. I sold it for $6,400 after trying to sell it for months, gassers just aint worth anything anymore, and its not like it was a crappy truck. It was a 01 1500 Ram ORE Auto(174k) and before that I owned a 98 Dakota 5-Speed(110k). I kept all my trucks nice, which is hard to do up here in the rust belt in PA. I've always wanted a diesel and finally got the bug to get one. Was joking around with a buddy couple weeks back and got the ball rolling on his 04 Cummins, since he has been wanting a 6 speed. I jokingly said to him, "Cut your losses and just sell er to me for $17,000". Well he thought about it and we talked it all through and told me to give him $18,000, then of I course had to pay $1,057 to the tax man. I should have the truck within another week or so. I've been having to go through all the loops with his bank, since it was on a lien for all the title stuff. I had to take out a little bit of money, so that made it nice and complicated for our two banks. This has been going on for 4 weeks, I'm ready to get this bad boy!

Part of the deal was for the stacks to come off, so I purchased a 5" diamond eye TB Exhaust and a 6" tip to spruce it up.
Just wanted to check in with all you guys if anybody remembers me, since I dropped of the grid for a good while. I've been busy since graduating highschool, I now work for a local company called Kinsley and have a 4 year apprenticeship with these guys. Its been real busy in my life. If anybody cares to contact me I'm hanging out in the cumminsforum 3rd gen section with the same username.
Thank you for all the great info I learned being over here in the 2nd gen Ram and Dakota section, I learned so much!

Nice ride. I worked the rust belt and it's tough on undercoating. My buddy put me on a diesel truck and hope to get to hauling with him soon, if we can sell a house that's no longer needed. Your other rides looked great. Best of luck. K.
I've never driven a common rail but hear they are nice and haul smooth.
