Default ABS & SRS Diagnostics with Scan Tool?

I have an OTC 9450 OBDII Scan Tool... it's capable of reading and erasing OBDII, CAN, ABS, and SRS codes.

I have ABS and Airbags, but see nothing in the Scan Tool menu for our vehicles regarding either.

Is there somewhere else other than the OBDII port to plug in to read these other systems?... Is the connector the same or do you need an adapter?

Or is a '98 too early for this functionality?

Should be the same plug. I would think that you would have to tell it what you are going to want to look at fairly early in the process after you plug it in.

When you initialize the Scan Tool, it asks what vehicle... after that I only have the typical PCM data access.

I had a quick look at the 98 SM... the ABS controller is tied into the CCD bus, and that is on pins 3 & 11 of the data link (OBDII) port.
