If anyone saw my current thread under "Dodge Ram", it wasn't me. It was an idiot that got on my account. Dis regard it because I am not gay.

her interweb plan is for 25Mbps download and 5Mbps upload, so I don't think she's going to outgrow that modem for a while... we got it about a year ago. it has already paid for itself as of a few months ago. (don't have to pay the $7/month equipment rental fee when you have your own modem)
^Agreed!! Apparently someone that over complicates things!!

Anyone else ever wonder how those little Smart Cars handle an accident? Well my uncle figured that out today.

He was off to work and was rear ended by a SmartCar, he was in his 2000 something Honda Civic, the crash tore the bumper off the Honda, and seriously damaged the substructure. He figures it's totaled based on age and mileage, not that much, just over 130,000.

But he was very surprised at how the SmartCar did, he was expecting a jaws of life rescue situation, but nope, the guy got out and walked around as if nothing happened and from what I understand the SmartCar is totaled.

The paramedics demanded he be taken to the hospital to be checked on but everything is clear and he's home and already got a rental.

I think SmartCar is a division or product of Mercedes Benz.

Very safe automobile. After this crash, the doors could still be opened.

New cars are basically designed to just implode in a crash. Like they get totaled easy. But they are extremely safe for the occupants compared to older cars.

Hell, even our trucks did pretty poorly by today's safeties standards.

They do take a front end and fender bender pretty well though.

No crumple zone ie. energy absorption, all the energy is transferred directly to the occupants. The video might be a display of structural integrity but there's a reason they didn't stick a dummy in it; it would have been splattered against the windshield. Wouldn't catch me in one of those things

Nice try, but crumple zone standards evolved in the 1980s. The Second Gen Dodge Ram does well in today's standards. You'd be surprised at the number of new vehicles that do not perform well in IIHS tests.

Newer <> Better, but I'd rather be involved in a wreck in something built 1985 and later that some of the old stuff I drove/rode in years ago.

Are you sure??? I thought our trucks did pretty bad in the side collisions.

That's what I always thought at least... .
