some of you may, or may not have heard about the murder trial here in good ole New Hampshire... but Seth Mazzaglia was just convicted on all counts, 1st degree murder being one of them. he strangled, raped, murdered, and then dumped lizzy marriots body into the piscatiqua river, in portsmouth, nh.
the trial was held under 5 miles from my house.
its a very sickening feeling watching something like that on the news, considering it happened so close to home.
But they never found the body, and the star prosecution witness is/was a pathological liar...... You can bet your bottom dollar there are going to be appeals.

the star witness was also the ex girlfriend of the guy. the river they dumped the body in has the 2nd strongest current in the world, and is also a salt water river(feeds into the atlantic).
she took a plea deal to rat him out. i think she got 8, or 10 years for doing so.
being a 1st degree murder conviction, along with 4 other convictions there is a mandatory appeal hearing. in NH a 1st degree murder conviction carries an automatic sentence of life without parole.

Yeah, the known pathological liar took a deal (wasn't that on some unrelated charges as well?) to rat him out. Still, I am really surprised that they were able to convict him, real curious what other evidence they had. (no, haven't been following the case.)
