The Official 2014 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
Well, there are a lot of nuts with guns.
I can't help it that I was once a federally licensed gun dealer. it just seemed like a natural progression after I was a Wisconsin state licensed gun dealer.
Firearms were a very important part of my life, especially while I carried a badge.

Actualy Jigs is right on the ammo for the Japanese rifle 7mm and darn close to 30-06. DJ is right the deer rifle is a 270. Ham Bone, this old WWII rifle has a flip out expanded metal at the bottom to insert up into the rifle 7 rounds and is bolt action (so, I'd say same gun.............and worth about 1k now). K.
Edit, traded all for a sling shot..........funnin. I'm a bit like Gary L. on guns, I have'em but they don't trip my trigger. Now that old antique Goose gun from Canada of Grand Daddy's is a different story (even has geese engraved on the blue barrels). You guys are welcome to go look in my photo bucket at it. I swear those barrels look 30+ inches. K.
I was off on the barrel.........looked longer, and the pistol grip, better not publish that one. edit/edit, while I seem to have hang time on this thread, last night the dogs had something cornered in the field. I went to my 1500 and pulled out the new Rayovac tilt head flash light and shined it on a red fox, I bring this up because of how good the directional beam is at long distance. That flash light is a MUST carry.

At one time I had hundreds of firearms.I bought sold and traded them for a hobby and even made a few dollars doing that. I was not one of the dyed in the wool firearms dealers though. Since I had a firearms dealer license I could buy new guns at wholesale prices and it was legal for me to sell them to other people. Of course back then there was no waiting period, you just sold them.
I became an amateur gunsmith. I bought a Unimat all in one machine tool {lathe} and built a few hand guns from scratch. One was 30.06 caliber single action six shooter. It was hard to get the rimless cartridges to stay in the cylinder, so I used speed loaders made from shim stock.
Some unfortunate fellow had tripped with his hunting rifle then thought he had cleared the barrel with a stick and fired it anyway. He put a large bulge and small crack in the side of the barrel so I got a replacement barrel and installed it. Since a little over 11” of the end was still OK I cut it off and use that for the six shooter.
When it was finished I lashed it to a tree and fired it from a safe distance. When it did not blow up I started holding it with both hands. It really kicked hard. I sold it for a lot more than I had in it. The dude that bought it could fire it pretty accurately with only one hand.
I don't have a clue how many older rifles I put scope grooves on but it was a bunch. I started selling high end iron sights for firearms too.
Then one fine spring day my ex-wife sold all my guns. There was over $10,000 in guns in my hoard at the time and she only got $2,000 for them all. That's part of the reason she is the ex-wife. I was only able to buy a few of them back. The dealer who bought them thought she actually had he right to sell them all.
I got my dads .16 gauge single shot {his first shotgun} granpa's double barrel .12 gauge Damascus, my original Winchester .22 that dad bought me when I was like 8 and a few others. He said he had already sold the rest. I have my doubts because he had only had them for three days when I tracked him down.
The state of Wisconsin said that because our divorce was not final yet the guns were still considered community property yet, so it was OK that she sold them even though they were not on the list of things she was allowed to take.
Anyway that was a long time ago and is just water under the bridge now.

Speaking of guns... My zombie gun is about 60% complete now
The lower just needs trigger guard and Fire Control Group to be complete. Upper still needs gas block, gas tube, dust cover, forward assist, and Bolt Carrier Group to be complete.
