header wrap
what dose everyone think pros an cons I'm thinking about goin for it because i have painted headers and it will lower heat under the hood an keep your eyes from seeing bare matel an when it starts to rust

My feeling is header wrap is an old technology to hold heat in the tubes (and out of the engine bay) that was of most benefit in tight engine bays where other components are in close proximity.
Today we have ceramic coatings to keep heat in the tubes, and in our application we have a relatively spacious engine bay.

Header wrap does a find job of holding moisture against the tubes, giving them the opportunity to rust rather quickly. As mentioned, the ceramic coatings are a far superior solution. Granted, it costs more, but, you don't have to replace your headers every couple years either.
If you live in a northern area, dont bother with wrapping them, holds moisture and you will be replacing them rather quickly. IIRC there is a spray on ceramic coating you can get at chain stores, no idea what it was called or how well it works though.
I have had ceramic coating done on my snowmobile exhaust, my old eagle summit with 4-2-1 headers, and on my old eagle talons headers. IMO it's the only way to go. I've had the sled for 5 years then the pipes look new still. ive since sold the other vehicals but after 2 years on each they sill looked awesome and were very effective.
I used Jet Hot. can be pricey but worth it in every way.

You can get the spray on, but it's just not the same quality yet still probobly better than wrap.
