Have been having a whistleing noise develop at idle durring cold start up + rough idle for 1 minute. Once trucks is at about 100degrees whistlings gone. Untill recently it whistles at running temp every time I ease off the gas. I remeber losing the rubber intake gasket so I am about to trace one out of a gasket sheet and I notice theese two splits. This could also be due to over tightening the air hat.

Just ordered the Volant intake, prolly just try and huck the spectra for $50 with the cracks, maybe somone can seal them and make use of this intake

 

I had a Spectre setup awhile ago and liked it. Sold it to a buddy for $65 and got a 14x3 setup. It whistles until it gets warm but I like the sound.

whistle is lame. Period.

 

Whistle is an optical allusion to pretend you have a diesel for a few minutes.

 

And this is why he drives arround with his tow mirrors fliped up.

 

Heck yeah! Can't afford a diesel so might as well look like one!

The Volant intake is nice; washable filter, enclosed filter box, comes with the air hat gasket. It's a bit tough to get the hat on (I have no lift), It's also quieter than my spectra was. Oh an my whistling is gone.

 

Also has the option to order the $90 cool air tubing that runs from your bumnper to the air box. if I get bored I may rig my own with some tubbing from ACE
