Default Help me pick a color

I've got a 96 Ram 1500 4x4; had it since new. The color is a metalic Driftwood (kind-of a silver color - very common). It's been repainted twice by Maaco (this isn't a Maaco bashing thread), and now it's fading again (as is the fiberglass top which has never been repainted). So this time it's at a "real" paintshop to get a good quality basecoat/clearcoat paint job.

I've never been a fan of silver. I'd like to get it painted just a shade darker silver/gray color. Not so dark as it's a huge difference between the outside paint and the door jam, but something so it doesn't look like I'm driving a truck that looks like a bright aluminum can.

Something a little darker silver gray; NOT a bronze color. Can you picture it?

So anyone have any suggestions? Know of a factory paint color that would fit the bill? The shop is going to call me when they're done prepping for paint for me to pick out a color.

Thanks.

Yes - that's what I'm talking about - that's one I can research - Tungsten Metallic on a 13 Dart. Smoke gray, gunmetal gray; there are lots of descriptions of the color I'm looking for; what I need is something like this where I can go to a dealer and look at it on a vehicle.

Thanks!

I'm planning on going to the Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealer tomorrow and look at the Jeeps and trucks (and Darts) and see what kind of dark silver colors they have.

I've always liked the Mineral Grey on the Rams.

I'm going to the Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealer today to look at their factory colors on their new cars/trucks/Jeeps. They've got Billet Silver Metalic, Granite Crystal Metalic, and on their Chrysler 300 they have a Pewter Gray Pearlcoat that looks interesting. It's hard to tell looking at the computer screen exactly how the color looks, so I need to see it on a vehicle.

I hope while I'm there I don't accidently buy a new four-door Wrangler.

And yes, I noticed this got moved from the tech forum. I'm just used to posting on the tech forum - sorry.
