The Gunmetal was a bit tool dark for our liking... we're happy with the Tungsten.

Speaking of descriptive colors... I have a Flame Red on my Ram, and the wife thought about getting red for her Dart... the bright red seen on all Dart ads and brochures looks pretty much like Flame Red, however, it is nothing like it in person... it is a deeper red called Redline... very disappointed in that one, hence going with Tungsten.

The paint code for Tungsten is "PDM".

This coincidentally is the same paint code for Mineral Grey.

So I went to the Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealer and looked around. They had bright silver, billet silver, and then some very dark silvers. Nothing was catching my fancy. So I went next door to the Chevy dealer, and found what I was looking for.

It was on a 2015 Chevy Corvette. It's called "Shark Grey Metallic". It's a little dark, but not too dark. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks on the truck.

It's hard to tell looking at the computer screen exactly how the color looks, so I need to see it on a vehicle.

I hope while I'm there I don't accidently buy a new four-door Wrangler.

And yes, I noticed this got moved from the tech forum. I'm just used to posting on the tech forum - sorry.
Is it even possible to "accidentally" purchase a new vehicle?

It's possible to get caught up in the moment when you see "the one" that's perfect for you. (un)fortunately, they didn't have such a Jeep there (four door anvil gray Wrangler stick shift).

I'm sure lots of folks can testify they went "just to look" and ended up purchasing a new vehicle.

If my 96 Dodge 1500 regular cab 4x4 (which I love) were to suddenly crash and burn, I might look real hard at one of the new four door Ram 1500 4x4s with the 3.0 diesel.

Go for stealth color. Pavement Grey. Blend in with your background.

They've got the fiberglass topper painted, so I went and looked at it today. It is definitely a bit darker than the factory silver color. And it is going to look gooooooood on the truck. Can't wait to see it completed.

This isn't meant to dis Maaco (who painted it the last two times - you get what you pay for), but these guys are really doing a good prep. They're removing the door handles, mirrors, molding, badges; anything that has paint around or under it is being pulled in preparation for painting. Maaco just taped around stuff. I've got new molding to replace the old side molding.

2015 Corvette Shark Grey Metallic. It'll look nice. I'll have to get a new avatar picture.
