Default Headlights, 1 bright, 1 dim no matter what

I had my driver side bright go out, thought it was the bulb so went to change them. found out it is the connector, it had burnt. Fixed that, now with my new bulbs, on dim my driver is bright and passenger is dim, on bright they switch, driver dim and passenger bright. Also when on dim the bright indicator in dimly lit..... pulled the fuses one at a time noticed that with either fuse in both headlight still are lit.... I have checked the Pur/Wh wire in the steering column, and been pulling the wires out checking for any fraying or signs of shorts with no luck... any ideas?

I'd start by looking for miswires in that repair job.

would that still cause the bright to come on when it should be dim?

Got the correct replacement bulb? A relatively common mistake is to install 9007's where 9004's belong, or vice versa. They're connected differently internally and so are essentially a hidden miswire, and will cause the symptoms you've got. Either way, a dimly lit high beam indicator is a symptom of one or the other fault.

PS: Get the model year of your truck into your profile and it'll make it easier for folks to help with these kinds of things.

i'll look into the bulbs, make sure I got the right ones, and thanks for the reminder on the year, I over looked that.

Yep, they're supposed to be 9004. It's nice that it's an easy fix.
