The Official 2015 2nd Gen Ram OT Thread
Sounds like a nice guy at the auto parts store. Reminds me of being a college kid and my CEL was on. I went to the store and replaced the part but the light was still on. The man at the store explained that it may be a few miles before the light went off, and he wasn't allowed to clear the code, but he'd let me do it. He hooked the scanner up, got it ready for me, and all I had to do was push 1 button to clear it.
Apparently automakers are trying to make it illegal to flash the PCM in your vehicle. What do you all think?

A little like catalytic converter removal... it's illegal, it still happens, few are prosecuted for it.
In this day and age, there are far fewer folks that tinker than there was way back when... in the old days you had to tinker to keep your car working.
Hey, if it's there car, maybe they should be responsible for all service and repairs for the life of the vehicle.

lmao
Anyone who doesn't view "land of the free and home of the brave" as a mass delusion just isn't paying attention.
The auto manufacturers are trying to use 'copyright' laws for this....... claiming that you don't really "own" your car, you just rent it for a long period of time.
If that's the case, why do I have a title for my truck, that has my name on it, but not chryslers? (aside from in the description....) Doesn't that imply that it is indeed MY truck? Not theirs?
Quite frankly, I find this kind of behavior outright stupid. Not to mention greedy. Of course, SEMA won't let this happen.

Personally, I don't care if manufacturers want to retain ownership of their 5h17 -- they can keep all of it, and I'll keep my money. I've been looking for a compelling excuse to create my own PCM anyway. If I had nothing more pressing to do with my time I'd already be working on it because it's an intriguing problem.

Problem with a lot of people in this country is they're too stupid to believe their government is/may be working against them and that everyone who believes they are is a conspiracy theorist.
Here in the US we're kind of hybridized. We're open about some of our violent oppression, but dismiss the rest as having been brought upon the victims by their own actions. On the other hand, if you're white and wealthy enough this is a pretty good place to live, and if you're truly very wealthy there's no better place on Earth. Americans are so generous they'll loan their military to private interests at no charge.
I don't trust the government, there is way to much evidence showing that they are not trustworthy.
