Maybe it was just a case of death wobble on steroids? Quite surprised he didn't lose it.

Sounds like a recurring thing for him if he handled it that well. Lol.

I passed a tractor trailer on 81 earlier this week that I thought his front wheels were about to explode off of his truck. It wasn't just an illusion from a rim or dirt. It looked really bad. Both wheels were doing it. I passed him real fast and didn't stick around to check it out anymore.

I95 is the place for it... On my way home tonight; a jacked up, spaced out 3rd Gen against the median, missing a back left tire... 100yrs down the road, a little buzz-box with a big fat mudder in the grill.

$15k for an old gasoline 2 door?

No, just no. Run!

Very clean and sharp looking but for $15k you can probably find a nice used diesel or 3rd Gen Hemi.

Took the old Corolla in for state inspection yesterday, jeez. One thing about NoVa/Central Va I don't like, they are much pickier here, down in SWVA that car would pass fairly easily.

So shop says it needs major exhaust work, new exhaust manifold and the special "flex" pipe, plus a taillight (no big deal, cheap online).

Rough estimate for everything was just under $900, kicker is for each exhaust bolt that breaks that they can't use an extractor and have to drill out is $100 per bolt.

Old car still runs pretty good, approaching 250,000 miles, somehow still gets 30MPG (although it has a tiny gas tank, 13G), but I'm not sure we can justify $1k or more for exhaust work.

A few years ago I had to retire my '90 Mazda. It was kinda sad because had just put a new manifold back exhaust on it and replaced all the brakes.

I boned it because shortly after I did all that work I changed the oil and rotated the wheels. When I jacked it up the rear bumper fell off and the body tub bent around the jack. It had 230,000 miles on it. I bought it from my younger sister for $400.00 with just under 90,000 miles on it and ran it for over 7 years.

It too still got terrific MPG. It had a 10.5 gallon tank and I could depend on 400+ miles from a tank. The air conditioning worked great too.
