I would die without AC. I dont know how I made it back in the 60's and 70's without it. Same with home AC. We did not have central air in our home until like 1980 or so. I giess we used a lot of fans.....lol

Anybody use AC anymore? Keith
TinCan,
I use AC (but more often windows down). If the lady is in the car/truck, then I do the AC for her. Personally, I like the wind blowing on me when driving.

I'm too old and fat to ride around in a hot truck. AC is as important to me as brakes.

I came to the conclusion about 30 years ago that life is too short to not have AC in a car or truck.

I will not buy a vehicle anymore unless it has air conditioning already in it unless I'm getting one hell of a deal on some vintage tin, like when I bought my '74 MGB.

Can you even buy anything built after about 1990 that DOESN'T have A/C?

Mine kinda sorta works. A bit of a charge probably wouldn't hurt it any, but, that stuff isn't cheap...... so, I just roll the windows down. And then complain about my hair blowing in my face. (yes, I have long hair.)

I have blend door issues so I have to bypass the heater core in the summer time to avoid "auto heat".

Freaking lame...

I use my A/C year round... even in winter it's on low... I've used heat twice in the last 14yrs... the last time it took a day of flicking the dial back and forth to get the blend door to move (the deteriorating foam seal had stuck it closed).
I also have a small leak... since everything on the outside has been replaced, I take it is the evap core... that won't get replaced until I need in there for something else... I have to add a can of refrigerant twice a year, so no big deal/expense.

I thought about putting a diverter valve between the hoses in the engine bay.
This way there is no flow through the core in summer, and in winter you can easily switch it back on, without breaking out the screwdriver, and worrying about getting air pockets out of the system.
