when do the body parts become non-swapable
Hello guys,
Yet another random questions for you guys: as you may or may not know, I have a 95 ram 1500 4x4. What model year are there design changes so major that I can't switch out interior (like dash boards) and exterior (like tailgate) parts? I want an idea of the date range i'll be looking for in the junk yard for parts i need.
If you need more info to answer this question, let me know. otherwise, thanks in advance!!

1994-2001 for exterior, though 2002 Ram 2500/3500 parts will also work since they used the 2nd gen style parts for 1 additional year.
Interior parts, 1994-1997. The 1998-2001 had a re-designed interior. The dash is different in those trucks.

Keep in mind, quite a bit changed from 97-98. I think even the floor pan in the cab was different. May be some minor differences between sport/non-sport body parts on the front clip as well. Doors changed in 98 as well. Any door from a regular cab truck will work on 94-97 trucks, regardless of body style. On the newer ones (98 and up) the doors for the quad cab are different than the regular cab.
If you have specific parts you want to replace, may want to ask those questions.
As some of the differences are minor, and some are pretty significant.
