Gotcha heyyou. That makes sense. The water pump sucks through the radiator instead of needing a block off to force water through.

I hate bringing dead posts back but turns out the temp gauge is wrong. Seems to be off by 18* as it still says 200 with the stant stat... Sorry jet stats... Well now I have a spare stat. What seems to be the most reliable brand temp sensor and sending units? Should I try the dealer? I just hate being ripped off by the dealers. I did put a dab of silicone on the threads to ensure seal... Could that be causing an improper reading perhaps?...

Yep. Sure could. The sensor uses the intake as the ground side of the circuit. If you insulate it from that ground, you will indeed get an inaccurate reading.
