Default Looking at this truck, what do you think?

Hi everyone,
What's everyone think of this truck? I'm going to go look at it this afternoon. Is the price right? It's going to be a barn truck and I'm going to put an aluminum service body that's coming off my old ford truck. I'm concerned about the rust (from being in the north east, but what else should I look for?

https://burlington.craigslist.org/ctd/5371779109.html

I have a 95 1500 with a 5.2 and a 94 2500 12v cummins both have them have served me well. I'm replacing my 89 ford f250 since I can't get better than 5mpg and traveling from our different farms and to home I need something that can get at least 10 mpg.

Thanks!

That red interior would be a deal breaker for me! Can't see any rust in the pics. The lower part of the door is the first to go. The rear brake line next to the frame and gas tank is know to rust out and burst. The frame rusts out near the front by the steering gear.

Haha, yeah the red isnt the prettiest. Its difficult to find any truck around here under $3k that isnt rotted to the ground. I hate to spend anymore money on a truck that is going to be used for barn work. If those areas are not rusted what is a good price to offer him? Also, I am familiar with the plenum gasket issue, but is there a clear way to tell from popping open the hood if it has gone bad?

Thanks

That's actually a pretty good price, even if the plenum IS bad...... If it starts, runs, moves around under it's own power, and is reasonably reliable, go for it.
