Back in the day, parts people know all the commonly used part numbers off the top of their heads, and the spectrum of year models they fitted.

About the only place I can try to get strange parts or someone willing to work with me and put in some digging is NAPA. I remember the good old days too where I could walk in with a bearing number or seal number and they would find me the part that way.

I had that problem here not to long ago. Was working on the Cherokee I had bought my son and we needed a seal. Every time they looked it up it came up with a seal that didn't fit. After a week of ordering different numbers we finally found the correct seal. But no one could look one up by measuring the ID & OD & thickness like they would have done 30 years ago.

I have catalogs in PDF format for both seals, and bearings, by dimension. It has come in VERY handy trying to keep my tractors runnin'.

I'll bet it does help. I've got a binder with all the manuals and install instructions for everything I have done to my Jeep. On top of that have a list of the seals, bearings, hoses, belts & what nots that I have used on the Jeep. Most of it I have in my head but one of my kids will get the Jeep in 20-30 years and this will help them.

Ill second that ! They sure helped me out! Saved me a ton of dough by not having to get the bearing from the Bush Hog dealership to fix my disc mower.

Last month I was in Atlantic beach when Hermine hit. This weekend we were supposed to go to Myrtle Beach for a shrimp festival. They just ordered evacuations. Luckily the resort refunded our deposit 100%.

Stocked up and boarded up... time to sit back and wait for the action to start.

They keep adjusting the track closer...
