Default What is this security device?!

So my brother 01 Ram that he bought awhile back (1500 V6 WS) has this device on it that doesn't allow the car to start unless its plugged in. It looks sort of like a flat chip type thing, about 1-2 inches in each way. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Sounds like a cool device but I have had no luck finding what it is in searches..

In my truck the won't start if it's not plugged in security device is a lot bigger than that, and it's full of lead and sulfuric acid. I'm guessing that your brother's isn't quite the same... So where in his truck is this device located and what does it plug to?

Its down to the right of the steering column, I asked him to send me a picture when he gets home. It just pushes into this block like thing. Idk how to describe it accurately, I'll post the picture on here when he send me it though

I'm assuming it works similar to a kill switch in which the way to turn the kill switch off is by having the thing plugged in.

Yep. It's a security device. Need to have the 'card' plugged into it to complete some circuits. Without the card, the truck should not start.

Usually, they are installed in fleet vehicles, or similar. Where did he get it from?

Yeah, exactly what I thought it was.

Don't lose the little key....... Either that, or get some wiring diagrams, and remove that feller.
