Oh my.......I think I like some of these fantasies guys :P. But I think I understand make sure the trucj is up to par in maintenance and still take it easy. I have a brake controller inside but I don't forsee myself using it and I don't know how to honestly. But I will learn as I use a trailer more I suppose

You are looking to tow a car, you better learn how a trailer brake controller works, real fast. Don't mess with 5-7k lbs behind you. Make sure you know how to secure a load, make sure you hook up saftey chains, do light checks regularly, make sure you hook up the breakaway break, make sure the ball is seated, make sure the tires are inflated right. These all seem like common sense, but you need to do it. I am not a hot shot hauler, but I have towed before, and whether it was an empty dolly or a mason dump on a car trailer, always check your stuff. Remember, its YOU who is liable for every bit of the load.
And I absolutely tow with my 01. I bought it to have for that purpose. I've had some hiccups, and for the most part its been my own fault. I could have prevented it. Be proactive. Even stuff you don't think is an issue yet should be checked and repaired before its necessary.

I plan on towing a 16' v nose enclosed trailer full of my household goods from North Carolina to Oklahoma this May with my second gen. It has 213,000 on the clock, no rust and I've put the last 55,000 on it myself. I keep it maintained pretty well, I've actually been catching up the maintenance in preparation for the trip the last couple months. I figure if I avoid the smokies and take the southern route, use a proportional brake controller and take it slow it should be fine.... I hope so anyway!
