Yes!!!
I looked at several trucks before I bought this one. All were rust buckets people wanted thousands of dollars for. Manifold bolts were rusted to the manifold and the block was rusted. I'm not torching and touching those bolts. One guys frame had holes patched but the patches had holes!!!
I looked at a few Chevy's all 200k plus miles for 3500 bucks and up.
Ended up buying this one with 187k for 2500 dollars. The manifold and bolts are separate not all rusted as one. The engine bay was clean the frame and mounts looked good. Also the clutch was newer. And now I don't have to worry about the dreaded Dodge automatic tranny.
I sold my last 2nd gen bigblue because of a seperation and my dad dying.

Today after work I did an oil change and looked closer at everything. Looks like I have a few problems.
My pinion seal is leaking.
My rear diff cover is leaking
My transfer case output shaft seal is leaking
And my steering gear box is leaking.

I also took a look down my butterfly. The walls were soiled but the bottom looked pretty dry. It was all silver no puddle. The magnet stuck the plenum.
Not sure if it was done....

What a cool truck! Yeah, there's at least a 2 or 3" leveling kit up front. The RCLB trucks always had a big rake so you may be stock out back. Look at the steep angle of the control arms. There's taller springs or a puck up there.

You avoided auto problems, yes. But the NV4500 has 5th gear issues so watch for that. The 5spd isn't any more rare than the NV3500 in the 1500s was. It was actually standard equipment. But the NV3500 in a 2500 with a Dana 44 and 318 (LD 94-95), now THAT's rare!

All those little leaks are trivial. If you aren't leaving puddles yet, don't worry. Well, maybe get the pinion seal fixed first.

Thanks for the heads up on the 5th gear.

I already addressed the transfer case out put shaft and fix an exhaust issue. Friday I'll be doing pinion seal and diff cover. I checked and there's plenty of fluids. I've been keeping an eye on it. The transfer case was the worst of the two.
Gotta save or wait for the right over time wek to do the steering gear box. I've been keeping an eye on the levels.

My build sheet says I have a limited slip. I've looked up on line and seen it takes 7 pints with 8 oz of friction stuff. I've never done that before. The part I'm not sure of is like what brands and what not. Mixing 7pints and 8 oz is pretty obvious lol. At my job we have this pre made LSD oil but it's specially for Hino trucks.
Any pointers on maintenancing LSD Dana 60 would be greatly appreciated!!!

What do u mean by RCLB

RCLB: Regular Cab, Long bed.

You can buy gear oil with the additive already in it. Makes life easier.

I put 75 in front and 80 out back with the modifier. But the 1500 has a Dana 44 up front and 9.25 corporate rear. You should have two Dana 60s so probably 80w90 is good for both. I use Valvoline and change every 2-3 years. You can get a tube of the modifier at Napa or anywhere. Just squirt the bottle in first and add oil til it reaches the fill hole. I know synthetic oils are "modifier equivalent" but I like to follow the rule book: Chilton.

How could I tell how tall it is? There are blocks in the rear and a spacer on the front shocks. I was thinking of lifting my truck higher. How would I know where it is, or what I'd need to accomplish that?

Just measure that spacer up front on the springs and you'll know if it's 2, 2-1/2, or 3" level kit. The blocks in the rear are factory. Like I said, the rake (rear high) stance is factory.

Lifting it more will cost: the next step is a 5" kit which will affect steering components and max out the control arms (long arms are recommended). The kits run well over a grand. I think it looks great the way you have it.

I was able to just piece together a 3" kit for mine which made it sit about like a stock 2500 which was a huge improvement over the little 1500 stance.
