Terrible Paint Job!
So I got my Ram painted by a local shop, and they did a terrible job with the taping! There's paint all over the window trim and other areas.
I'm taking it back in to hopefully get cleaned up a bit, and my question is, will they be able to scrape, or get the paint off the trim? Here's a pic of just one of many areas I'm pissed about.
also, the black trim around the rear window, they scuffed it in many places while sanding. He said he can just tape it off and spray it with black paint. I think the paint will probably come off the first time I wash the truck?

There is no way to get that paint off without harsh chemicals or scraping that won't damage it further. Most reputable shops pull the weather stripping before sanding and painting. On the plastic that was scruffed while sanding yeah it can be painted. There is paint specifically for plastic trim that has gotten to faded for conventional dressing such as armor-all to restore.
WHEN YOU OPT FOR LESS COST WITH PAINT SHOPS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR Better shops give you the breakdown for labor to dis-assemble theparts, opposed to masking around them.Tape lines suck on any type paint.Express the point "I don't want any tapeline on the paint".Painter will then give you added cost for labor to takethe ride apart and do it right.Remember, Good parts a'rent cheap, cheap parts arent good....Just a thought.......

That is one cheap paint job. It would be interesting to see in person the quality of how they sprayed it, i.e. orange peel, tiger striping, ect. Did they do color AND clear for that price?
