New 2nd Gen Owner
I've been working on cars (one cert from ASE master mech), airplanes (Navy retired), weapon and Inter Com on Navy ships for 40 years. This is my 9th Mopar vehicle I've owned.
I've been around this truck since new. For some reason I have never ridden in it. I didn't know the year, milage, what package it had or size motor etc and haven't seen the inside before just the outside. (don't know why)
Picked this up on Saturday with 86,850 miles from a good friend, the original owner. Exterior has faded paint pretty bad but no rust. It's been outside since new. The inside is immaculate with the usual cracks in the glove box and fascia ring around the cluster. The dash has been replaced 2 times under warranty for cracking. The floor has clear plastic hallway cover on all of it. The original carpet mats are in pristine condition along with the carpet throughout. The driver seat looks new also. He used a cover and pad the times it was driven the first four to five years. The rest of the time it sat there with a couple short trips to HD. It was started every couple of weeks and let warm up. It had a sunshade used on the front window. The freeze plugs on the back of the heads have been replaced by the dealer. The oil changes at 3000 to 4000 miles. He changed the oil every year after because it wasn't driven much. New Scorpion AT's tires at the corners. He bought a fully loaded Tundra 4x4 that's nice. We were outside about to leave but waiting for the wives to finish up talking. He told me while walking around the truck he was selling it. I was joking about all of the damage on the outside of the truck, minor. I'd give you $500 for the POS to use the axles/drivetrain for a Jeep. Give me $850 and it's yours. I need the parking space.

Well so much for a vehicle I thought I could trust. Something wrong with the transmission. It was pulled for the freeze plugs by the dealer. Sounds like a steering pump when it's low. I think they f'd it up when they put it back in. It sounds like the pump is bad.
Went over to get a smog to register it. Drove it around 20 minutes and nothing. I get in from smog and the thing wouldn't move in park or reverse.
So the fun begins. Just got done with the BMW X5 transmission, and timing stuff for the front of the engine.
