Default Factory sound system

I just got the truck and want to upgrade in a simple way for now, from the factory cassette/radio unit that's in the truck now. I'd like to stay with a plug and play factory unit for now. My first choice would be a cd only/radio or at least a cd/cassette radio. My question is how are those factory units at playing home burnt cds?
Thanks

Truck info? year? Any cd player should play burnt cd's as long as they are not MP'3 or some other format. look into the newer ones that play MP3's from a memory stick. They are awesome! Hours of music and no changing cd's.

01Sport with stock cassette radio. I've seen some stock players have difficulty/not play at all home burnt CDs. Thats why I was asking about the Mopar units of that era.

Might be better off getting an aftermarket head unit, and adapter harness... makes it plug and play, provided you do NOT have the Infinity sound system...... also much higher likelihood of being tolerant of burnt cds.

The adapter harness I used was plug and play with the Infinity system.

Crutchfield is your friend; check them out for aftermarket stereo systems for your truck. A simple aftermarket and some relatively inexpensive speakers will really make a difference.

Hi, I have a 2001 Dodge Durango SLT with the Infinity Sound system, I want to replace the head unit with a Pioneer unit and replace all the bottom door speakers. With the head unit there is this strange wire that is connected to the factory radio that seems to be the power on for the amp. Is it as simple as wiring that to the aftermarket harness power ant. (Blue) or the (blue/white)? I saw another video where they ran a wire to the fuse box near the battery, just don't want to have to go through all of that if it isn't necessary. As far as the speakers, they should be plug and play I would hope... Advise please, don't wanna blow any computers, but would still like to keep the tweeters and amp running if possible..
