Default Photobucket No Longer Hosting 3rd Party Link

PhotoBucket now charges $399 for third-party hosted images

Just a heads up for those of you who may not be aware of this. Seems this change went into effect Thursday or Friday. There is no telling of there will be a huge user revolt.

Yes, there will be a revolt, and it is already in progress. Folks are leaving Photobucket in DROVES, and moving their image hosting elsewhere.

It seems to be rather hit or miss if you are affected though.... Seems images I have hosted there are still showing up. No idea why.

Images I have on another forum aren't displaying. Instead, the third party default, shown in the link I posted, is. I'm on the fence about buying my own server space someplace both for this and other work I do. There are competitive prices all over.

Probably even one of the free web-hosting services would work......

If you all are still seeing images, it could be because they're still in your browser's cache. Clear your cache and see what happens. Over on another forum, people are fuming that all of their links, and avatars, are gone.

I cleared all of my stuff from PhotoBucket today and closed my account. The site was becoming a major PITA anyway (pop ups and erratic behavior). I had trouble doing anything there with my popup blockers running.

My browser cache gets cleared each time I close it.

All my links are broken. They want $40 a month to restore it. Lol, hell no! I'll be looking for another photo service.
